Matthew Vaughn Confirms Writing Kingsman Sequel, May Direct.

file_123229_0_kingsmanheaderA rumor hit that 20th Century Fox was developing a sequel, and now co-writer/director Matthew Vaughn has confirmed that indeed this is case he told Yahoo despite having never directed a sequel to his own films before.

“Well, the good news is that I’m writing it next door at the moment,” Vaughn said. “If I think I can get the script good enough, then we are making it. We are doing our damndest to make that happen.”

“I’m in love with these characters and I want to work with them again so I’ll probably be breaking the rule of me tending not to make sequels,” Vaughn admits.

Despite not being a recognized franchise, Kingsman: The Secret Service held on to the Top 5 for 6 weeks. Top 5 for Domestic box office numbers. Kingsman became a surprise box office hit this year.

Based upon the 2012 Icon Comics miniseries by Dave Gibbons and Mark Millar, Kingsman: The Secret Service tells the story of a super-secret spy organization that recruits an unrefined but promising street kid into the agency’s ultra-competitive training program just as a global threat emerges from a twisted tech genius. I’m most excised  about this because Dave Gibbon hasn’t written a sequel to Kingsmen in the comics, So the Script would be completely new and hopeful Matthew Vaughn will ask Dave Gibbons to come in and help with the new script. on a Budget estimated at $81,000,000 has grossed over $400 million worldwide, so no surprise they would want a sequel. This is not a review but I gave this movie a 81/2 out of 10.
