Greetings and Salutations Once Again Audience,
Ridley Scott is back! After Exodus, Prometheus and Robin Hood I felt Ridley may have lost his magic. While I liked these movies I didn’t think they were Ridley Scott good. I had really low exceptions going into ‘The Martian’. I knew It would be good, but I wasn’t expecting what I seen which was a perfectly balanced movie.
I thought ‘The Martian’ was well paced. This film could have been cut down an easy 20 to 30 mins and they could have more show times, but I’m so glad they didn’t. It was perfectly paced. The slower parts served to stories so well.
‘The Martian’ During a manned mission to Mars, Matt Damon as Astronaut Mark Watney is presumed dead after a fierce storm and left behind by his crew. But Watney has survived and finds himself stranded and alone on the hostile planet. With only meager supplies, he must draw upon his ingenuity, wit and spirit to subsist and find a way to signal to Earth that he is alive.
Matt Damon did such a great job. He always picks really good projects, Elysium not with standings. The only real complaint I had in the whole movie was when the made Mark Watney looked malnutrition-ed, being really skinny, but in one scene he puts his space suit back on and you expect it to be hanging off him but he fills it up. When you see the scene you’ll know what I mean.
Everyone is talking about Jeff Daniels and how great he was. I love Jeff Daniel’s in the News Room but his role in the ‘The Martian’ wasn’t award winning! For me Michael Peña stole the movie, He did such a great job in this film. He was perfectly timed and was so witty. Another great performance was by Kristen Wiig. She blow me away. She felt so real to me. Wiig really pulled in the humor shes know for and was able to find the perfect balance between real and witty.
Over all I loved ‘The Martian’. Its neck in neck with ‘Inside Out’ for the best movie of the year in my option. I give ‘The Martian’ 9 out of 10 as always give me your thoughts in the comments below and then share this with your friends and become part of the conversation.
