Greetings and Salutations Once Again Audience,
The official trailer for X-Men: Apocalypse has just dropped. Here is a quick synopsis: Since the dawn of civilization, he was worshiped as a god. Apocalypse, the first and most powerful mutant from Marvel’s X-Men universe, amassed the powers of many other mutants, becoming immortal and invincible. Upon awakening after thousands of years, he is disillusioned with the world as he finds it and recruits a team of powerful mutants, including a disheartened Magneto played by Michael Fassbender, to cleanse mankind and create a new world order, over which he will reign. As the fate of the Earth hangs in the balance, Raven played by Jennifer Lawrence with the help of Professor X played by James McAvoy must lead a team of young X-Men to stop their greatest nemesis and save mankind from complete destruction.
This is the 4th X-Men to be directed by Bryan Singer and the 9th film of the franchise from 20th Century Fox. Watching this trailer which I really liked, I felt like this is the first real xmen movie. Now don’t get me wrong, I’ve like some of the other movies but this one feels like a real x-men movie. Nightcrawler, Beast, Storm they all really felt good to me. This movie this above all others a movie about change and becoming more then you are.
Great example of this is Storm. Clearly in this scene Apocalypse Is turning her very early on.
It really looks like she is going to come into her own in this film.
Angel on the other hand we already know from all the images that have come out until now. Seeing Angel as Archangel was something I never thought I would see in film.
Even Oscar Isaac who plays Apocalypse seems to go throw a change. From the synopsis Apocalypse take the powers of other mutants which made him immortal and invincible. I honestly can not wait to see this film if not for anything else but Oscar Isaac. He has really blown up recently, landing some of the most interesting roles.
The one that stood out to me was Magneto played by Michael Fassbende. It seems like from the trailer Magneto has been working in a steel mill. Maybe but trying to live his life. Then Apocalypse comes and turns his whole world upside down. But I get the feeling that Magneto may not be fully in control or fully in to this move by Apocalypse.
I thought this scene was odd. I feel this scene is a really importane scene where we’ll get a better understanding of Magneto’s loyalty’s.
This is me just guessing but I think he’ll switch sides at some point and help fight Apocalypse. The line in the trailer where Michael Fassbender asks James McAvoy, “Does it ever wake you in the middle of the night? The feeling that some day, they’ll come for you and your children?” I think that conversion happens at the very end of the movie.
As always give me your thoughts in the comments below, Its a 5 out of 5 in anticipation after this trailer for me, where are you? Also share this with your friends and become part of the conversation.
