Greeting and Salutations once again audience,
So the trailer for Collateral Beauty just dropped. I was blow away, After hearing hugh jackman stepping away from this project and Will Smith stepping in, I’ll be honest I was a little worried. After Concussion I had a little more faith. Don’t get me wrong, I love Will but you hear these stories about Will wanting to shoe horn his son in ever movies.
The trailer starts like most Will Smith movies do with a Will Smith talk over, The studio’s way of letting us know right off the back that Will Smith is in this movie. The story is about a man (Will Smith) that clearly lost someone. Learning to cope with the lose he wrights letter to Love, Time and Death. A lot of people talk to god and the universe and never get a reply but Will Smith’s character (Howard Inlet) does. He receives visits from Time, Love and Death. Is this a new way of telling “A Christmas Carol” only instead of a greedy man, we’re dealing with a grieving man. Well it feels like “A Christmas Carol” with a little “Reign Over Me” thrown in.
The cast couldn’t be better with Will Smith, Keira Knightley, Kate Winslet, Helen Mirren, Michael Peña, Jacob Latimore, and one of my favorite actors of all time Edward Norton. Directed by David Frankel and a screenplay by Allan Loeb. This movie has all the right peaces to be Great. This type of film is right in my wheel house. These types of films are why I’m a film fan. I give this film a 5 out of 5 in anticipation. Warner Bros. Pictures has it scheduled release for December 16.
As always guys tell me what you thought of the trailer (which I’ve included) in the comments or on twitter @FenixArising and become part of the conversation.
